Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe is now the richest turf race in Europe

The €5 million that is now on offer as prize money in the Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe means it is now the richest turf race in Europe and the second in the world only being the newly formed Everest. It is also the fourth richest horse race in the world only behind the previously mentioned Everest and the Pegasus World Cup and Dubai World Cup. This year’s race was won by the star filly Enable with no other than Frankie Dettori as her jockey. Dettori now enters the record books as the winning most jockey in the history of the race. With his record victories now standing at 5 that started with a victory on Lammtarra back in 1995. He doubled his tally six years later with victory aboard Sakhee and in the process winning by an amazing 6 lengths. Classic Horse Races to Watch Every Year
